Our class loves
animals! That is why we are going to make something to help animals that are
in trouble. Do you know what animals are called when they are in trouble?
They are endangered animals. If humans aren’t careful some animals could
become extinct. Do you know what that means?Look it up in the dictionary if you don’t.
The Task
You will choose
an endangered animal to research and then you will make a product that we can
give to people in Emporia that will teach them about your animal, why it is
endangered and what they can do to help your animal.
The Process
First look at the list of endangered
animals and pick one to research.
Then research your animal. Find out what
its habitat is, what it likes to eat, and other facts like that. You should
write down at least ten facts.
Then think of at least five ways people
who live in Emporia can help your animal become less endangered.
Next you are going to make a product
that we can put at public places like the library that will educate people
about your animal and how they can help your animal. There are many things
that you can make: bookmarks, brochures, magnets, or paper fans. There are
many other things you can think of because you are so creative!
Then we will make lots of copies of your
special product and take it to the public places so that people can learn
about helping endangered animals!
